“George Abdullah” on the way to Beirut; The breakdown of Paris and anxious hours

Beirut

PNN – Lebanese sources announced that George Abdullah, a Lebanese activist, was released by France and is on his way to Beirut.

According to the report of Pakistan News Network, quoted by Al-Mayadin, the French authorities decided to release George Abdullah, a Lebanese activist, after nearly 41 years of detention and send him to Lebanon.

According to Al-Mayadeen’s reporter from Paris, this action was taken one day earlier than the date set.

Al-Mayadin reporter explained that the decision of the French authorities to transfer George Abdullah, a Lebanese activist, today instead of tomorrow, is to prevent him from being welcomed by the public.

He noted that Paris prevented Abdullah from making any press or public comments before expelling him.

According to field information, George Abdullah is expected to be released within the next few hours.

Meanwhile, Robert Abdullah, George Abdullah’s activist brother, spoke of hours of anxiety and anticipation, as there is still no set date for his arrival in Beirut.

Al-Mayadeen reported: George Abdullah has been released and is on his way to Lebanon. He is doing very well and is impatiently waiting to reach Lebanon and meet his family and friends.

At the same time, George Abdullah’s freedom campaign called for widespread participation in the welcome ceremony.

Lawyer Feda Abdul Fattah also said: The change of George Abdullah’s release date from Saturday to today is aimed at disrupting the celebration of his arrival in Beirut.

Al-Mayadeen published pictures of Abdullah’s transfer from Lanmezan prison to Paris, the capital of France. Earlier, Abdullah praised the “growing mobilization” among his supporters and said it was the main reason the French Ministry of Justice approved his release.

The Lebanese Embassy in Paris informed Al-Mayadeen reporter: George Abdullah’s plane will leave Paris at 9:00 AM and arrive in Beirut at 2:30 PM.
