PNN – A German security expert said: The meeting between the presidents of America and Ukraine is unlikely to lead to progress in favor of Kyiv.
According to the report of Pakistan News Network, Peter Neumann, a German security expert, said in an interview with the Bild newspaper: It is unlikely that today’s Sunday meeting between Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and American President Donald Trump will lead to a fundamental breakthrough in favor of Ukraine.
He added: For Trump, Ukraine is merely an obstacle to normalizing relations with Russia, and therefore, a meeting with Trump will not be an achievement for Kyiv.

This German expert said: The success of the Mar-a-Lago negotiations depends on the extent of Zelensky’s readiness to make concessions to Russia.
According to the schedule published by the White House, Donald Trump is scheduled to meet with Volodymyr Zelensky today, Sunday, in the state of Florida. Previously, Trump said in an interview with Politico that he is soon to speak with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin and hopes the call will go well.
Referring to his Sunday meeting with Zelensky, he added: I think the conversations with Putin and Zelensky will go well.
Zelensky had said that in his meeting with Trump, he intends to discuss territorial issues, including the possibility of Ukrainian forces withdrawing from Donbas, as well as the use of the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant.
Zelensky, on December 24, 2025, unveiled his 20-point plan for peace with Russia. In this plan, he still insisted on not retreating from Donbas and the right to have an 800,000-strong army.
Sergei Ryabkov, the Russian Deputy Foreign Minister, announced that Zelensky’s plan fundamentally differs from the 27-point plan that Russia has been discussing with the American side in its contacts since early December and in recent weeks.
