German Foreign Minister: Israeli attacks on Lebanon unacceptable

PNN – While explaining the goals of his trip to Beirut, the German Foreign Minister described the Israeli regime’s attacks on Lebanon as unacceptable.

According to the report of Pakistan News Network, citing Russia Today, Lebanese Foreign Minister Youssef Raji, in a meeting with his German counterpart Johann Wadiful in Beirut, asked German officials to put pressure on the Zionist regime to force it to stop its attacks, withdraw from the occupied Lebanese territories, and adhere to its ceasefire commitments.

He said: A diplomatic, not a military, solution is the only way to achieve stability in southern Lebanon, while the government of this country is implementing the decision to monopolize weapons in the hands of the government by taking gradual steps, and the Lebanese army is fully fulfilling its duties.

On the other hand, the German Foreign Minister also announced the purpose of his visit to Beirut as supporting stability in Lebanon and the region, while emphasizing: Israeli aggression is unacceptable, and Tel Aviv must respect Lebanon’s sovereignty and all parties must commit to ceasing hostile actions.

While praising the Lebanese government’s efforts to monopolize weapons, Yohan Wadiful warned: Failure in this area will send a negative signal and message regarding the Lebanese government’s ability to exercise its sovereignty.

During the meeting, the German Foreign Minister emphasized his country’s support for the return of Syrian refugees based on Lebanon’s position, and discussed with the Lebanese side the future of the UNIFIL mission and possible plans after the end of their mission.
