Germans continue to call for an arms embargo on the Zionist regime.
According to the weekly magazine Der Spiegel, the results of the latest poll show that criticism of the Israeli regime’s actions in the Gaza Strip is growing not only within the German government but also within the country and among citizens. The results of two new polls show that the German public is also increasingly skeptical of the Israeli regime.
Accordingly, the vast majority of Germans are in favor of restricting or completely suspending arms exports to Israel. This is the result of a survey conducted by the Infratest Diempe opinion research institute for the ARD television network, in which the institute interviewed 1,292 eligible voters in Germany.
According to the survey, 43 percent of respondents are in favor of restricting arms exports, 30 percent want a complete ban, and 17 percent want to approve arms exports to Israel without any changes.
The election research group, which was commissioned by the ZDF Barometer, also came to a similar conclusion. According to the survey, more than three-quarters of respondents support a temporary suspension of arms deliveries to Israel. Only 15 percent want Germany to continue exporting military equipment to Israel.
In addition, according to the Infratest Diempe report, almost two-thirds (63 percent) of citizens said they felt that the Israeli military response to the Al-Aqsa storming by the Palestinian resistance movement Hamas was excessive. Only 18 percent considered the actions of the Israeli army appropriate, a decrease of three percentage points compared to the previous survey.
According to the ARD report, almost three-quarters (73 percent) believe that the Israeli military actions against the Palestinian resistance movement also affect the Palestinian civilian population and that this is unjustifiable. Both results represent new records in the surveys regularly conducted by Infratest Diempe.
In a survey commissioned by ZDF, 63 percent of 1,247 respondents also said that the German government should increase pressure on the Israeli regime to end the war in the Gaza Strip.
