Reuters, citing a source close to the German Economy Ministry, reported that the country’s government has suspended the issuance of new licenses for exporting military weapons to Tel Aviv.

An economic source in the German cabinet explained to Reuters that Berlin is waiting for the resolution of legal challenges regarding arms exports to Israel; Because issuing these licenses is in legal conflict with humanitarian laws.

According to the statement of the Ministry of Economy of this country, last year, the German government agreed to issue a license to export weapons worth 363.5 million dollars to Israel, which included military equipment and war weapons, and this figure has increased nearly 10 times compared to 2022.

According to this report, the German government approved only 14.5 million euros of these weapons for export until August 21 this year, of which the “arms of war” sector included only 32,449 euros.
