“Gideon’s Chariots 2”: A new phase of genocide and destruction in Gaza.

“Gideon’s Chariots 2”: A new phase of genocide and destruction in Gaza.

As the Israeli cabinet approved the plan for a massive invasion of Gaza City, dubbed “Gideon’s Chariots 2,” which will mark a new phase in the genocidal war against Gaza, the occupation regime’s military movements for the next phase have also become clear.

Following the recent statements by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, in which he described Gaza City and the central camps in the strip as Hamas’ last bastion, Defense Minister Israel Katz said on Friday, “We have approved the Israeli military’s plan to resolve the battle against Hamas in Gaza with heavy fire, evacuations, and field maneuvers, and soon the gates of hell will open for Hamas in the Gaza Strip; until it agrees to Israel’s conditions for ending the war, including the release of all abductees (Zionist prisoners) and the disarmament of the movement. If Hamas does not agree to these conditions, Gaza City, the capital of Hamas, will become another Rafah and Beit Hanoun.”

Israel wants to raze all buildings in Gaza City

Meanwhile, the Hebrew newspaper Yedioth Ahronoth reported on Friday that according to indications available to the Israeli army, Hamas has resumed repairing its tunnels even in areas where Israeli military attacks have previously been carried out. In addition, the Israeli army estimates that there are large and important underground systems for Hamas in Gaza City, some of which were not discovered during the first military maneuvers of the Israeli army in the city, about a year and a half ago.

According to the Hebrew media, the Israeli army wants to repeat some of the combat tactics used in the Gideon Chariots 1 plan in Gideon Chariots 2, which will not only include opening new dividing lines around Gaza City, in addition to the Netzarim axis that divides the Gaza Strip, but will also lead to the destruction of buildings and their razing to the ground; As has happened on a large scale in recent months in the cities of Rafah and Khan Yunis in the southern Gaza Strip.

According to Israeli data, for example, in the Abbasan neighborhood in eastern Khan Yunis, the Paratroopers Brigade forces have demolished more than 2,000 buildings in recent months, some of which were three or four stories high.
