Global march: 32 countries to camp at Rafah Crossing and end the siege of Gaza.
Al-Arabi Al-Jadeed wrote in its latest report on solidarity and support for the oppressed people of the Gaza Strip: In line with international solidarity with the Gaza Strip, breaking the siege of the Gaza Strip and stopping the Zionist regime’s genocide, thousands of activists from 32 countries have planned to reach the Rafah crossing on the border between Egypt and the Gaza Strip, seeking to deliver humanitarian aid and support for the Palestinian people.
The participating convoys are scheduled to gather in Cairo next Thursday, then head to the city of Al-Arish in northeastern Egypt, from where they will walk to the Rafah crossing and pitch tents in protest. Representatives from most European countries, North and South America, as well as Arab and Asian countries, are present in this global march, which indicates increased international support for the Palestinian issue.
The Algerian “Sustainability Caravan” is at the forefront of the participating convoys, and yesterday it left the Algerian capital for Tunisia to join the Tunisian convoy and from there to Libya, then Egypt and the Rafah crossing.
Yahya Sarri, head of the Algerian initiative to support Palestine and aid the Gaza Strip, announced in a statement: “On Sunday, the Stability Caravan set off for Tunisia to join the Tunisian caravan and go through Libya to Egypt and from there to Gaza via Rafah.”
He is a prominent member of the Algerian Muslim Scholars’ Association, adding: “The caravan is humanitarian and raises its voice with the participation of the free people of the world and calls for breaking the cruel siege of our nation in Gaza. This step expresses Algeria’s position in supporting Palestine and supporting civilians against brutal aggression. This caravan is part of a global popular movement that has set off from land, sea, and air to oppose the criminal actions against the Gaza Strip.”
Sarri said: “We say to the residents of the Gaza Strip that you are not alone and we are with you in your pain and suffering. This is what we are doing to bring your voice to the world.” This caravan is a symbol of the growing global will that is putting occupiers in a bind everywhere.
