PNN – The Chinese publication Global Times wrote in relation to the Voice of America report that the Iranian president’s testimony may have a negative impact on Tehran-Beijing relations: Washington does not miss any opportunity to create differences between China and Iran.
According to the report of Pakistan News Network, Voice of America in a biased report referring to the martyrdom of Iranian President Ayatollah Seyed Ebrahim Raisi may affect the development of relations with Tehran in the decisions of Xi Jinping’s government.
The Global Times newspaper reacted to this report and emphasized that Washington does not miss any opportunity to create differences between China and Iran.
In this regard, Li Weijian, an expert on Middle East issues, said: “The American voice is only focused on restraining Beijing, and it does not mean that Iran or China have a problem with each other.”
Pointing out that the Middle East needs strong relations and strengthening bilateral relations between China and Iran in such a sensitive situation, he said: President Xi Jinping and Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi expressed their solidarity with Tehran and emphasized the expansion of the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries, and the Iranian embassy in Beijing also published a post on the Chinese social network “Weibo” on the same day expressing the solidarity of the government and the people.
Stating that the relations between Tehran and Beijing are based on common interests, Li Weijian emphasized that nothing can affect the relations between Iran and China.
Lu Xiang, another expert on American issues at the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, stated that relations with Tehran have an important place in China’s foreign relations, and added: Our goal is to develop relations with Iran in a very complex foreign environment.
He added: The cooperation between Tehran and Beijing has anti-hegemonic features and stability in the relations between the two countries is beneficial for the expansion of the multipolar world and maintaining security and peace in the Middle East.
Stating that Iran may face difficulties in the near future, this Chinese expert clarified that there is a great space and potential for bilateral cooperation outside the US and Western bloc, and the Westerners cannot prevent the development of relations between Tehran and Beijing.
The Global Times magazine stated that the strategic goal of America is to contain China, and added: Some American media are trying to create differences between the two enemies of this country (Iran and China) in line with Washington’s goals.
This Chinese publication added: When Ayatollah Raisi traveled to Beijing in March of last year to strengthen bilateral cooperation, the American media claimed that Iran is disappointed by China’s hesitation in expanding its economic relations with Tehran.
The same American media interpreted the negotiations between Tehran and Beijing regarding the Red Sea crisis as China’s pressure on Iran or made the normal cooperation between the two countries dangerous in order to reduce Beijing’s influence in the Middle East.
Global Times stating that China is one of the largest producers of industrial goods and Iran is one of the most important producers of energy, said: The two countries are very complementary to each other economically, and since the formation of the presidential government, we have seen the development of relations between the two countries.
This Chinese media stated: The more sensitive the situation in the Middle East, the more efforts are needed to stabilize this region.
