Global warnings about a humanitarian catastrophe in Gaza and calls for urgent humanitarian aid.
French Foreign Minister Jean-Noël Barrow said that Gaza was in a state of extreme hunger and devastation, and the risk of losing the opportunity for a Palestinian state was greater than ever.
He added that France and Saudi Arabia would chair a meeting of the international community at the United Nations on Monday to save the two-state solution.
Canada’s Foreign Ministry also condemned the Israeli military attacks on World Health Organization (WHO) personnel and facilities and World Food Program (WFP) convoys, calling these actions unacceptable and expressing concern over the killing of Palestinians seeking food and water, most of whom are children.
The ministry called for the immediate resumption of UN-led aid and called for an immediate end to the fighting.
US State Department spokeswoman Tammy Bruce also reported tangible progress in negotiations to reach a ceasefire agreement in Gaza, saying that the US was working with regional parties such as Qatar and Egypt to find a solution to end the war and allow humanitarian aid to enter Gaza.
Dutch Foreign Minister Caspar Volkkamp also warned of the imminent risk of famine in Gaza and called on the occupying regime to fulfill its humanitarian obligations, including agreements with the European Union, and allow aid to enter.
He stressed that compliance with international humanitarian law is essential to protect the lives of civilians.
According to IRNA, the Palestinian government’s media office in the Gaza Strip previously called on the international community, all countries in the world, international and human rights organizations, and political institutions in a statement to open safe and permanent routes for the transfer of food and medicine to the Gaza Strip with direct and real supervision and to prevent any obstruction by the occupying regime.
The statement emphasized that humanitarian aid must be freed from any political games and control by the occupiers or their accomplices.
