Guterres: Israel has blocked food and medicine from entering Gaza.
According to Anadolu Agency, UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres warned on Tuesday that the two-state solution (in the occupied Palestinian territories) is on the verge of “disappearing.” Gaza must remain an integral part of the future Palestinian state.
The UN Secretary-General continued at a Security Council meeting on Palestine: “In Gaza, there is no end to the killing and misery. Aid is non-negotiable. (The) The Israeli regime must protect civilians and must agree to and facilitate relief projects. (The) The Israeli regime has been preventing food and medicine from entering Gaza for nearly two months. Settler violence in the West Bank continues at an alarming level.
Antonio Guterres said that the situation in Gaza remains dire and “there is no end in sight to the killing and misery.”
He added: “The world cannot watch the two-state solution disappear.” Leaders of countries face clear choices: choice-silence, choice-consent, or choice-action.
