Guterres: Israel’s attacks on Yemen are worrying

PNN – UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres called the attacks of the Zionist regime on Yemen “worrying” and called for restraint from all parties and the cessation of military actions in the region.

According to the report of Pakistan News Network, “Stephanie Tremblay”, one of Guterres’ spokespersons, wrote in a statement published on the United Nations website on Friday morning: The Secretary General of the United Nations condemns the escalation of conflicts between Yemen and Israel.

He added: Israeli air attacks on Sana’a International Airport, Red Sea ports and power supply centers in Yemen are very worrying.

In this statement, pointing out that “at least three people were killed and dozens of others were injured” in these airstrikes, it is stated: When Sana’a airport was hit, a United Nations humanitarian air service force was injured.

The UN Secretary General also emphasized that international laws, including humanitarian laws, must always be respected and all parties must protect citizens and civilian infrastructure. Aid personnel should not be targeted either.

Guterres expressed deep concern about the “danger of further tensions in the region” and called on “all parties to stop all military actions and exercise maximum restraint.”

The Secretary General of the United Nations has warned: At a time when millions of people are in need of life-saving assistance, airstrikes on ports in the Red Sea and Sana’a airport pose serious risks to humanitarian operations.

The Zionist regime’s fighters bombed targets in Sana’a and Hodeidah provinces in seven airstrikes on Thursday. The power plant in Sana’a and Hodeidah was one of the targeted infrastructures in this round of attacks.

The Zionist Army Radio quoted a military source as saying that Sana’a Airport, Hodeidah Port and oil facilities were targeted in this attack.

Hebrew-language sources called this attack the most extensive attack on Yemen and confirmed that dozens of Israeli fighters participated in this attack.
