Guterres: Ramadan began, but the killing in Gaza did not stop

According to Pakistan News Network’s report from the United Nations website, Antonio Guterres said to reporters: Today marks the beginning of the holy month of Ramadan, a month when Muslims around the world celebrate and spread the values ​​of peace, reconciliation and solidarity.

He said that we have just entered the sixth month of Hamas attacks in Israel and the beginning of “Israel’s catastrophic attack” on Gaza.

The Secretary General of the United Nations added: “My most serious request today is that we respect the nature of Ramadan by silencing our guns and removing all obstacles to ensure the delivery of life-saving aid at the speed and scale required.”

“The eyes of the world and history are watching,” Guterres said, stressing that “we must act to prevent more preventable deaths.”

He called for the “immediate release of all prisoners” and said: “Every month we have witnessed the killing and destruction of civilians [in Gaza], which has been unprecedented in all the years of my service as the Secretary General of the United Nations.”

Desperate civilians need “urgent action,” the UN Secretary-General said, stating that “Israel’s threatened attack on Rafah could plunge the people of Gaza into a deeper hell.”

With the full support of the West, the Zionist regime has launched a massive massacre in Gaza in retaliation for the surprise attacks of the resistance forces.

This regime has closed all crossings in the Gaza Strip and is bombarding this area. According to reports, more than 31,000 Palestinians have been martyred and more than 72,000 others have been injured.
