Guterres: The killing and destruction in the Gaza Strip has reached an unprecedented level.
According to Al Jazeera, “Antonio Guterres”, the Secretary General of the United Nations, emphasized in his words: the delivery of humanitarian aid to the residents of the Gaza Strip requires the realization of an immediate ceasefire in this strip.
He further added: that permanent resolution of the conflicts between the two sides can only be achieved with the implementation of the two-state solution.
Guterres added: The killing and bloodshed in the Gaza Strip has reached an unprecedented level and this strip is on the verge of famine.
He stated: Delivering humanitarian aid to the residents of the Gaza Strip means opening more crossings and removing restrictions by the Israeli side.
Guterres stated: Israel’s decision to prevent UNRWA convoys from operating in the northern Gaza Strip is not acceptable in any way.
He added: Nothing can justify the collective punishment of the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip.
The Secretary General of the United Nations, who traveled to Egypt yesterday to visit the Rafah crossing and learn about the situation of the Palestinian refugees, said that the Gaza Strip is facing a humanitarian disaster.
In a press conference at the Rafah border crossing, he added: While eating breakfast, it was sad that we realized that most people in Gaza do not eat a proper breakfast. There is no justification for the collective punishment of the Palestinian people.
Guterres stated: I simultaneously want the end of the suffering of the people of Gaza and the release of Israeli prisoners. The only way to get aid to Gaza is through land crossings.
