Haaretz: Iran surprised us/The three main dimensions of America’s and Israel’s defeat

dimensions

PNN – A Hebrew media outlet examined the dimensions of their failure, referring to the miscalculations of the United States and Israel in the war with Iran.

According to the report of Pakistan News Network, analysis in Zionist circles about the ceasefire and surrender of US President Donald Trump to Iran continues. In this regard, Amir Oren, a journalist and military affairs analyst in the Hebrew newspaper Haaretz, speaks in a report about Israel’s failure to achieve its war goals against Iran and discusses the miscalculations that led to this failure.

Three dimensions of the US and Israel’s failure in the war with Iran

This Zionist military analyst emphasized that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu will not pay the price for the absolute defeat of this war from his own pocket.

He said that the three dimensions of the US and Israel’s failure in this war are: the Iranian regime that was not overthrown, the enriched uranium that was not extracted from the depths of the earth, and the strait that was not opened. Therefore, anything else that is said in this regard and the attempt to justify the defeat and advertise the victory are merely stories and excuses.

The article continues: The Iranian regime remained intact, and Iran’s nuclear program still exists (which would not have happened if Trump had not violated then-US President Barack Obama’s agreement with Iran at Netanyahu’s instigation), while Iran’s blockade of international navigation by closing the Strait of Hormuz stunned Trump.

The author of this article explained that the superiority of the Israeli and American air forces over Iran did not produce any real results, because the main objectives of this war were not achieved, and victory or defeat is not measured by the amount of destruction and devastation inflicted on the parties, but rather depends on the extent to which each party, especially the initiators of the war, succeeded in their goals.

Oren added: On the contrary, the only absolute truth for us is the damage to the domestic front and depth, that is, the front of the “people” of Israel, which Netanyahu ignored and abandoned throughout his years; while he was always eager for war with Iran. Also, in addition to Israel’s domestic front, its strategic position in America and Europe, especially among their nations, has also been severely questioned.

He pointed out that in this war, everything began and ended with language, and when we examine the terms used by Trump and Netanyahu after the disastrous defeat in the war with Iran, we realize that these words are like the wind that comes out of their talkative balloon.

Iran’s behavior in the war surprised America and Israel

The article continues by emphasizing that the terms that the warmongers in the Israeli Ministry of War, headed by Netanyahu, and with him Eyal Zamir, the Chief of Staff of the Army and his generals, and David Barnia, the head of the Mossad, as well as White House officials, fell into include: goals versus tasks, inputs versus outputs, assessment versus preparedness, surprise versus astonishment, and rationality versus probability.

The aforementioned Zionist author stated that a politician or ruler can consider the options before him, all of which are bad, and the efficiency of each of which is negligible, yet choose one of them and prefer it to the status quo. So in such a situation, the probability of choosing an irrational option is actually very high.

According to this article, this is exactly what Iran did to the US and Israel when it upset Trump and Netanyahu’s calculations and attacked the Persian Gulf countries and closed the Strait of Hormuz. From a superficial and arrogant Western perspective, this was an unreasonable and illogical move, and therefore it was not expected that Iran would take such actions, but these miscalculations paid off and Trump was ultimately forced to back down in the face of Iran’s behavior.

The writer for the Hebrew newspaper Haaretz also noted that the closing of the Strait of Hormuz was not a “surprise” in the strict sense of the word, but rather a “surprise,” because “surprise occurs when such a scenario has come to mind, but has been sidelined and its implementation cannot be predicted.” Here the connection between assessment and preparation arises; so that even if the probability of closing the Strait of Hormuz was assessed as low before the war, the Pentagon should have prepared its forces and plans to thwart this action, or to react quickly to it.

Trump makes decisions based on whims, not reason

He added that assessment is just a heading, and under it are chapters such as: enemy assessment, environmental assessment, and self-assessment, and finally, situation assessment, which is the responsibility of decision-makers, not their advisors. But we see that in the case of Trump, he does not basically assess, but only decides based on his feelings and is subject to his desires and whims.

The aforementioned Zionist author emphasized: This is because of Trump’s arrogance and pride, which claims that he is always right and that he makes decisions based on his whims, while Netanyahu always makes decisions based on personal political and judicial considerations.
