PNN – The Haaretz newspaper, published in the occupied Palestinian territories, referring to the efforts of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to resume the war in the Gaza Strip, wrote: Any scenario regarding the release of prisoners through the resumption of the war is unrealistic.
According to the report of Pakistan News Network, citing the Palestinian news agency Sama, Haaretz also wrote: Any boasting about this has serious consequences and endangers the lives of the prisoners.
The Zionist newspaper emphasized: The propaganda about the appointment of the new army chief of staff is within the framework of the transition from a defensive to an offensive position. This is while any support for warmongering will be tantamount to defending the killing of prisoners.
Haaretz also pointed to the refusal of Israeli officers and reserve soldiers to introduce themselves to their units and said: The refusal of reservists to report to their units has become a reality, with only half of the reservists taking action, while the Israeli army is trying to hide this issue.
Coinciding with this Haaretz report, estimates from the Israeli military indicate that the occupation regime’s military is expected to be under pressure due to the Gaza war and concerns about controlling the borders of occupied Palestine.
News sources reported last Monday that the Israeli Defense Minister threatened Hamas with resuming the war in the Gaza Strip.

Al Jazeera quoted Israel Katz as saying: If Hamas does not release our prisoners as soon as possible, we will once again return to the option of war and continue the war until all goals are achieved.
He claimed: If our prisoners are not released, we will close the gates of Gaza and open the gates of hell.
This is while former Israeli Minister of War Yoav Gallant also stated last week in response to the regime’s officials’ efforts to resume the war in Gaza: This regime will be making a mistake if it resumes the war before releasing all its prisoners from Gaza.
The Yedioth Ahronoth newspaper reported that Gallant emphasized at a meeting in the United States that Israel would be making a mistake if it resumed the war to destroy Hamas in Gaza before releasing its prisoners.
The former Israeli Minister of War also said: I will be the last person to oppose the destruction of Hamas, but if we destroy Hamas before releasing the prisoners, there will be no prisoners left to free.
Yoav Gallant added: That is why, first of all, the prisoners must be released; then we will continue to completely destroy Hamas, and even if Israel is not willing to fight to destroy Hamas forever, we will be forced to do so for a long time.
The first phase of the six-week ceasefire between Hamas and the Israeli regime ended on Saturday evening. However, the Israeli regime has not agreed to enter into a second phase of the ceasefire and end the war. This is despite Hamas declaring its readiness to continue implementing the provisions of the January 19 ceasefire agreement.
Benjamin Netanyahu is obstructing the implementation of the first phase of the ceasefire agreement by opposing its extension. He wants to extend the first phase of the ceasefire agreement to release as many prisoners as possible, without making any concessions to the other side or implementing the military and humanitarian commitments mentioned in the ceasefire agreement.
This is while the Hamas movement, while opposing this, is demanding that the occupying regime adhere to the ceasefire agreement and has called on the mediating parties to resume negotiations for the second phase of the ceasefire, which includes the withdrawal of the occupying forces from the Gaza Strip and a complete cessation of hostilities.
