PNN – Haj Ali Karaki, known by his jihadi name “Hajj Abolfazl,” was the third-ranking figure in Hezbollah in Lebanon. He survived Zionist assassinations twice and ultimately attained the grace of martyrdom alongside his follower, Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah.

At 6:22 p.m. on Friday, September 27, 2024, the Zionist regime carried out a massive terrorist operation with intensive attacks on a residential complex in the Haret Harik area with the aim of assassinating Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, Secretary General of Hezbollah, and a group of his comrades, which resulted in their martyrdom.

Along with Hezbollah’s Secretary General, a number of Hezbollah commanders were also assassinated, one of whom was “Ali Abdul Moneim Karaki”, nicknamed “Hajj Abul Fadl”, who was responsible for the headquarters of Sayyid al-Shuhada and its military organizations and units. Hajj Ali Karaki’s name was recently mentioned in the Zionist media as a target on an assassination list due to his responsibilities in Hezbollah. At the time of his martyrdom, he left behind a brilliant record of jihad and resistance against the Zionist occupation.

Hajj Abolfazl; a martyr from the generation of Hezbollah’s founders

Ali Abdel Moneim Karki, nicknamed Hajj Abolfazl, was born in Al-Mustaiba on May 10, 1962. He was originally from the village of Ain Bouswar, a part of the Nabatieh region in southern Lebanon. Before joining Hezbollah, Karaki graduated from Lebanese University and began his combat activities by participating in military operations against the Zionist occupying army during the attack on Beirut in 1982. He was an activist in a number of Hezbollah operations, the most prominent of which was the “Martyrdom Operation of Ahmed Qusayr.”

In 1985, after the relative withdrawal of the Zionist regime from Beirut, he established resistance axes and organizations in the border strip and was responsible for the military operations in the southern region until 1996, and played a role in coordinating operations against the Zionist forces there until 2000.

Karaki was a member of the Central Council and Jihadist Council of Hezbollah since its founding. He was also the deputy secretary general of Hezbollah since 2008. He played a prominent role in a number of military operations, including the 33-Day War. Hajj Abolfazl was responsible for all the formations and units of the Sayyid al-Shohada headquarters from 2006 until his assassination.

Karaki is considered one of Hezbollah’s military strategy engineers and a developer of combat capabilities in the use of advanced weapons and irregular warfare tactics. He was one of Hezbollah’s most influential strategists and managed important files in the field of relations with the Syrian government and military operations against terrorist-takfiri groups in southern Lebanon.

The Zionists believed that Semat Ali Karaki, as the commander of the Southern Front, under whose responsibility the three leading Hezbollah brigades (Badr, Nasser, and Aziz) were, would ensure that all of Hezbollah’s combat movements against the Israeli army and the northern settlements of the occupied territories would be carried out under his direct supervision until his martyrdom.

Repeated Zionist assassinations alongside American sanctions

The Zionist media considered him to be the one overseeing all Hezbollah movements against the Tel Aviv army and the settlements in the northern occupied territories on the front line supporting Gaza following Operation Storm. The Zionist media agency had considered Ali Karaki the third person in Hezbollah and claimed that his rank was equivalent to Fuad Shaker and Ibrahim Aqeel, other martyred Hezbollah commanders.

The US Treasury Department imposed sanctions on Karki, along with Fuad Shaker and Ibrahim Aqeel, in September 2019. The Israeli regime attempted to assassinate him in the town of Nabatiyeh in February 2024, but the targeted vehicle was camouflaged and he was not inside.

Martyr Ali Karaki was also targeted and assassinated by the Zionist regime’s killing machine 4 days before his martyrdom. On September 23, 2024, the Israeli army announced that it had targeted Karaki in an airstrike on the “Madi” neighborhood. While the Zionist media reported the success of the attack, Hezbollah-affiliated media announced that the assassination operation had failed.

Lebanese sources reported that the occupiers used six guided missiles in the attack on Kirki, but Hezbollah confirmed in a statement that Kirki was safe and had been moved to a safe location.
