PNN – The National Security Organization of Iraq announced the arrest of one of the most wanted persons of the former regime named “Ajaj Ahmed Hardan”, known as “Hajjaj Nakra al-Salman” in Al-Muthani province.
According to the report of Pakistan News Network, quoted by Waa Iraqi News Agency, on Friday, the National Security Organization of Iraq announced the arrest of one of the most wanted persons of the former regime, Ajaj Ahmed Hardan, known as “Hajjaj Nakra Al-Salman” in Al-Muthani province.
The statement of this organization states: In continuation of special operations to pursue the criminals of the former regime and after six months of detailed intelligence work, the teams of the National Security Organization in Al Muthani province, in coordination with the southern security forces of Salah al-Din province, succeeded in arresting one of the most prominent officials of the former regime.
The National Security Organization of Iraq has stated in its statement: This fugitive, nicknamed “Hajjaj Nakra al-Salman”, previously worked as a security officer in the notorious “Nukra al-Salman” prison, and during the dictatorial regime of Saddam, he served in several different security positions, including the officer of Al-Ramitha, Al-Najmi, Al-Hilal, “Al-Basiya” departments, as well as the security officer of the entire Al-Muthani province, and participated in the execution and burial of victims in mass graves. The accused has committed heinous crimes such as torture, murder and rape in Nakra al-Salman prison against hundreds of Iraqi citizens, especially the Kurds who were forcibly deported to al-Muthani province.
This statement states: While this accused’s family had claimed that he had died in order to mislead the security agencies, however, intelligence efforts, data analysis and matching information with previous confessions helped to discover his whereabouts in Salah al-Din province. After completing the judicial authorizations and recording the statements of the victims, the arrest operation was carried out and the accused was referred to the competent authorities so that legal procedures against him could be carried out.
