Hamas agreed to end the war six months ago; Trump agrees to a two-state solution.

“Bishara Bahbah,” an American businessman of Palestinian origin and one of Trump’s close associates who heads the “American Arab Committee for Peace,” addressed the ceasefire agreement in an interview with Al Arabiya Channel, stating that Trump had personally told him that he agreed with the two-state solution to solve the Palestinian problem.

He continued by speaking about the survival of Hamas, saying, “The existence of Hamas and its role are two different things. Hamas will have a role after the end of the war in Gaza. Hamas could be integrated into the security forces of the Gaza Strip.”

Bishara Bahbah, who has repeatedly taken steps to mediate between Hamas and the Americans, stated: “It is possible that Hamas’s disarmament could be carried out by handing it over to an Arab Islamic force. What I understood from the Trump administration is that Hamas’ disarmament only concerns heavy weapons and that the movement does not oppose it.”

He also stated: “President Donald Trump confirmed to me in a conversation that he is not opposed to the two-state solution.” Netanyahu also has no right to annex any part of the West Bank to Israel.

The Palestinian-American businessman explained that ending the war and preventing the displacement of Gaza residents is the most difficult step in Trump’s plan.

He also claimed that Hamas had agreed to end the war in March, but Israel wanted a partial agreement and opposed ending the war.

Despite Bishara Bahbah’s account of Trump’s personal agreement with the two-state solution, US President Donald Trump refuses to state his definitive position in the media. In response to the question of whether he agrees with the two-state solution, Trump said: “Some agree with this solution and some do not, but I have not stated my position yet.”

The Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) stated on Thursday morning, October 9, 2025, officially announcing the achievement of an agreement to end the war in Gaza and an agreement to exchange Zionist prisoners for Palestinian prisoners.

The Israeli army also officially announced the implementation of a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip on Friday afternoon and announced: According to the agreement, Israeli forces will remain stationed in certain areas of the Gaza Strip, and travel from the south to the north of the Gaza Strip will be allowed via Al-Rashid Street and Salahuddin Road.
