Hamas: Assassination of Aslih showed the sadistic face of the Zionist regime

PNN – The Hamas movement announced that the assassination of Hassan Aslih showed the sadistic face of the Zionist regime.

According to the report of Pakistan News Network, citing the Palestinian Information Center, the Islamic resistance movement Hamas issued a statement calling the assassination of Palestinian journalist Hassan Aslih while he was being treated at Nasser Hospital in Khan Yunis a war crime and strongly condemned it.

The statement added: Continuing its targeted policy of silencing the voice of truth, the Zionist regime directly attacked Nasser Hospital, killing the injured journalist Hassan Aslih, who had previously been injured in the bombing of the journalists’ tent. This brutal crime showed the sadistic face of the occupying regime to the world and unmasked a face that places no value on law, humanity, or the media.

Hamas, while offering condolences to the Palestinian people and the domestic and international media community emphasized that targeting journalists will never succeed in silencing the voice of truth. The honest children of the pen and image continue to convey the narrative of the Palestinian people to the world and expose the true face of the occupiers.

The Hamas statement also stated that with the martyrdom of Hassan Aslih, the number of media martyrs since the beginning of the Zionist regime’s war on Gaza has reached 215. This heavy figure is a sign of the systematic terror of the media by the occupying regime and part of its organized effort to censor the truth and break the will of the resistant Palestinian people.

At the end of its statement, the Hamas movement called for immediate and serious action by the international community, media institutions, human rights organizations, and the United Nations, and declared: Silence in the face of these crimes means participation in bloodshed and suppression of freedom of expression. This criminal regime must be subjected to sanctions and political, legal and media pressure and its leaders must be brought to international courts for their repeated crimes. The Zionist regime has today become a global threat to media freedom and human principles.

Palestinian journalist Hassan Aslih was previously injured in an Israeli attack on a journalist tent in the same hospital and was hospitalized due to burn injuries resulting from the attacks.

Zionist media had long published pictures of this Palestinian journalist with Yahya Sinwar, the martyred commander of the Palestinian Islamic Resistance, indicating that he was among the targets of the Zionist regime’s assassination squad.

Hospital sources announced that the Israeli regime’s missile attack directly targeted the burns ward of Nasser Hospital, and several others were injured. Witnesses said that Israeli aircraft targeted the Al-Istiqlal building in the medical complex with several missiles.

The Palestinian government’s media office in Gaza announced that with the martyrdom of Hassan Aslih, the number of journalists martyred since the beginning of the current war has reached 215, describing this act as targeted terrorism against media personnel.
