Hamas calls US claim to expel resistance leaders from Qatar false.
According to the Palestine Today news network, Mahmoud Al-Mardawi, a senior member of the Hamas movement, rejected the statements of an American official in the White House that the United States had told Qatar that the presence of the Hamas movement in Doha was unacceptable, saying that such claims were nothing but propaganda and lies.
Al-Mardawi also said: We will not spare any effort to stop the genocide, famine, and displacement of Palestinians in the Gaza Strip, but it was the Zionist enemy that withdrew from the July 2 agreement after agreeing to the deal with the mediating countries and after informing the regime about the July 2 agreement.
He said that this was an attempt to undermine the spirit of the origin and host of the resistance.
Al-Mardawi emphasized: The July 2 agreement was an opportunity to end the war and would have solved all the challenges ahead, and the dismissal of [Yoav] Gallant [Israeli Minister of War] and his statements are the enemies’ testimony to the truth of our words.
The Hamas official’s remarks come after an American official claimed in an interview with Qatar’s Al-Sharq newspaper on Friday night: “After Hamas rejected the US offer to release the Israeli hostages, we informed Qatar that the presence of Hamas leaders in Doha is no longer acceptable.” The American official claimed: “In light of Hamas’ repeated opposition to the release of Israeli hostages, even if the number is small, especially in the recent Cairo meeting when Hamas once again rejected the offer to release the hostages, this issue has made their continued presence in Doha no longer acceptable.”
