A Hamas government spokesperson in Gaza said that so far, due to lack of medical supplies, more than 9 thousand people have died.
Ismail al-Thawabteh, the director of the Hamas government’s information office in Gaza, today on the eightieth day of the war, reported the martyrdom of more than nine thousand people due to the lack of medical facilities.
Al-Thawabteh told Al-Jazeera that Gaza needs a daily delivery of a thousand trucks carrying medicine and medical supplies to recover the health sector, and the aid that has entered Gaza so far can only meet two percent of the medical needs.
The Hamas official also announced that as a result of the extensive bombing of Gaza, 23 other hospitals are unable to provide services, and the health sector has completely collapsed.
Ismail al-Thawabteh also said that due to the lack of medical facilities, more and more people are dying every day, so far more than nine thousand people have lost their lives due to their inability to receive treatment.
Ashraf al-Qudra, the spokesman for the Gaza Ministry of Health, also said in a statement that in the past 24 hours, hundreds of people have died due to the lack of facilities and medication.
He also said that 99 percent of the medical staff in northern Gaza have been taken captive by Israeli forces, and the occupying regime does not allow the entry of aid trucks into northern Gaza.
According to this Palestinian official, there are tens of thousands of wounded people who put severe pressure on the medical system due to the lack of facilities, and if Israel does not allow the entry of medicine, a real catastrophe will occur.
So far, more than 20,400 people, mostly women and children, have been martyred in the attacks by the Zionist regime in Gaza, and thousands are still missing and under the rubble.
