Hamas: If Washington acts positively, an agreement can be reached

PNN – One of the leaders of the Islamic resistance movement Hamas emphasized on Friday that if Washington acts positively and does not take the side of the occupying regime alone, an agreement can be reached.

According to the report of Pakistan News Network, “Osame Hamdan” said in a conversation with “CNN” that the Zionist regime should leave Gaza so that Palestinians can decide their own future.

He continued: We need a clear position from the Zionist regime regarding the acceptance of the ceasefire agreement.

Hamdan stated that neither we nor anyone else has information about the number of Israeli prisoners alive in Gaza.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Egypt announced that together with Qatar, we received the response of Hamas and Palestinian groups to the proposed plan for negotiations, cessation of hostilities, exchange of prisoners and hostages.

According to the ministry’s report, Cairo and Doha emphasized that they will continue to make joint mediation efforts with the United States until an agreement is reached.

According to this statement, the mediating countries will review the response and coordination with the relevant parties regarding the future steps and actions.

Qatar’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs also confirmed that this country, along with Egypt, received the response of Hamas and Palestinian groups regarding Israel’s proposed plan for negotiations.

This statement was issued hours after the Al Jazeera network, quoting informed sources, announced that Ismail Haniyeh, the head of the political office of Hamas, and Ziyad Al-Nakhleh, the secretary general of the Islamic Jihad movement, delivered the response of the resistance to the plan proposed by the Zionist regime for the exchange of prisoners to the Prime Minister of Qatar.

After the response of Hamas and the Islamic Jihad movement, these two resistance movements confirmed this action and announced in a statement that Ismail Haniyeh, the head of the political office of Hamas and Ziad al-Nakhleh, the secretary general of Islamic Jihad, at the head of a delegation from these two movements, delivered the response of the resistance groups to the proposal for a ceasefire and exchange of prisoners during a meeting with the Prime Minister of Qatar and sent it to the Egyptian brothers.

In this statement, it is stated that in the response of the resistance groups of the interests of the Palestinian people, the necessity of a complete cessation of the war and the complete withdrawal of the occupying forces from the Gaza Strip has been prioritized.

The statement also adds that the Palestinian delegation, relying on a sense of national responsibility, declares its readiness for positive interaction to reach an agreement that will lead to the end of this war.

The response to the Zionist regime’s proposal for negotiating a ceasefire and exchange of prisoners will be delivered after the resolution proposed by the US regarding the ceasefire in the Gaza Strip was approved in the meeting without any opposition or veto.

In this 7-point resolution, it is stated that the resolution proposed by the United States reminds all relevant resolutions regarding the situation in the Middle East, including the issue of Palestine, and emphasizes the importance of the continuous diplomatic efforts of Egypt, Qatar and the United States with the aim of achieving a comprehensive ceasefire agreement including three stages.

The resolution states: It welcomes the new ceasefire proposal announced on May 31, which Israel accepted, and calls on Hamas to accept it as well, and calls on both sides to fully implement its terms without delay and without restrictions.

This resolution notes that the implementation of this proposal can have the following results in three stages.
