Hamas: New Israeli proposal does not guarantee ceasefire.

According to Al-Mayadeen, a leader of the Palestinian Islamic Resistance, referring to the latest Israeli proposal in the negotiations, said that the proposal does not include a ceasefire and is trying to gradually remove the prisoners’ card from Hamas.

The Hamas source added that the movement does not consider the Israeli proposal to include its basic demands, including a permanent ceasefire or a complete withdrawal of the Israeli army from Gaza.

According to this source, the most important issues raised in the Zionist proposal were the release of nine Israeli prisoners, including the release of Israeli-American soldier Eidan Alexander from Hamas custody. Setting 45 days for stopping military operations and opening the crossings and the entry of aid into Gaza based on Israeli conditions are other clauses in the plan.

One of the clauses in the proposal is the deployment of Israeli army forces in areas that it had occupied before March 2.

According to the Palestinian source, Israel’s plan to enter into phase two negotiations includes a permanent ceasefire and withdrawal from Gaza, Hamas’s weapons, and the way Gaza is governed. The plan seeks to disarm Hamas and to ensure that Hamas does not have control of Gaza.

The Palestinian source added that Hamas has not yet officially responded to the proposal and is currently reviewing it.
