Hamas responds to the raid on Marwan Barghouti’s solitary confinement cell.
The Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas), in response to the Israeli Minister of Internal Security’s raid on the solitary confinement of Palestinian leader Marwan Barghouthi and his threat, announced: “This is a cowardly show that reveals the fascism of the occupiers.” The Hamas movement added: “This dangerous criminal act will not weaken the determination and perseverance of the fighter Marwan Barghouthi, but rather will further strengthen his will to continue his legitimate struggle for the freedom and dignity of his people, and will increase the unity of the prisoner movement in confronting the systematic policies of repression and torture of the occupation regime’s prison organization.
The Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement stated that this criminal behavior is a continuation of the war crimes that occurred in the “Sadiyya Taiman” prison, which witnessed horrific violations against prisoners, including doctors, nurses, and journalists, a scene that shows the extent of the occupation’s brutality towards prisoners and detainees.
The Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement called on the Palestinian people to show the greatest solidarity and support for the heroic Palestinian prisoners. Hamas also called on the United Nations, international human rights organizations, and freedom-loving people of the world to take urgent measures to protect the prisoners.
