Hamas: Return of refugees to northern Gaza is a victory for the Palestinian people.
According to the Palestinian news agency Shehab, the Hamas movement, stating the return of refugees to the northern Gaza Strip within the framework of the ceasefire agreement, announced another deal outside the previous agreement for the exchange of prisoners with the Zionist regime.
The statement states: Within the framework of Hamas’ efforts to eliminate the excuses that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, the occupation regime, used to prevent the return of refugees to the northern Gaza Strip and to resolve the issue of “Jewish Erbil”, a Zionist prisoner in Gaza, the Hamas movement presented a proposal to the mediators.
Hamas added: “Based on this proposal, an additional deal for the exchange of prisoners, including Jewish Erbil, a Zionist prisoner, and two other Zionist prisoners, will be carried out before next Friday, and the prisoner exchange deal, which was supposed to be carried out next Saturday, will be carried out according to the previous plan and includes three Zionist prisoners.”
The movement emphasized that we reached this agreement with the efforts of the mediators so that the return of the refugees will begin this morning, Monday, January 27, 2025.
The Islamic Resistance Movement Hamas announced in another statement that the return of the displaced to the northern Gaza Strip is a victory for the nation and a declaration of the defeat and failure of the occupiers and their forced displacement plans.
The statement said: “The scenes of the glorious return of the people to their places of residence, which they were forced to leave, despite their destroyed homes, emphasize the greatness and steadfastness of our people in their land despite the depth of pain and suffering.”
The statement added: “These scenes full of joy of return, love for the land and steadfastness in it are a message to all those who have pinned their hopes on breaking the will of our people and their forced displacement from their land.”
Hamas added: “We emphasize that the return of the displaced to their homes once again proves the failure of the occupiers in achieving their aggressive goals of forcibly displacing our people and breaking their will of resistance and steadfastness.”
The statement said: “We stand with our great people at this historic moment and call for the acceleration of all aid and relief to reach all areas of the Gaza Strip.”
Simultaneously with the Israeli army’s withdrawal from the Netzarim axis, the return of thousands of Palestinian refugees to northern Gaza has begun via Al-Rashid Street in central Gaza to implement the ceasefire agreement.
The Palestinian Shehab News Agency also announced, citing the Gaza Interior Ministry, that Al-Rashid Street will be reopened at 7 a.m. local time today, and Palestinians will be able to cross this street without using cars.
