Hamas says exchange of prisoners is conditional on Tel Aviv’s adherence to the agreement.
According to the Al-Masirah website, Hamas spokesman Abdul Latif Qanou stressed that the seventh phase of the prisoner exchange took place within the framework of an operation that the Palestinian resistance imposed on the occupying regime.
He noted that the resistance remains determined to implement the agreement and force the enemy to adhere to its obligations.
Qanou stressed that the continuation of the prisoner exchange process is subject to the Zionist regime’s adherence to the remaining provisions of the agreement and the implementation of the humanitarian protocols.
He also noted that 33 days have passed since the beginning of the first phase of the agreement, but the occupying regime has not yet fully implemented all of its obligations.
The Hamas spokesman described the situation in Gaza as catastrophic and called on the mediators to pressure the Zionist regime to implement the humanitarian protocol, send humanitarian aid, and meet the basic needs of Palestinian refugees.
Qanou stressed Hamas’s full readiness to carry out a large-scale prisoner exchange, stating that this exchange should be carried out in the form of a comprehensive package including a permanent ceasefire, the withdrawal of the occupiers, and the reconstruction of Gaza.
In this regard, Hazem Qassem also stated: Today, the Palestinian nation is recording one of its great achievements in the Battle of Al-Aqsa Storm. This success was achieved thanks to the perseverance, sacrifice, and courage of the resistance in carrying out a large-scale prisoner exchange operation.
He stated: Today, the Qassam Brigades and the resistance are forcing the Zionist regime to cross the red lines it had drawn for itself in the prisoner release case and break the shackles and bonds of a number of the leaders of the prisoner movement.
Hazem Qassem emphasized: “Today, we emphasize our full commitment to completing all stages of the prisoner exchange operation and announce our readiness to implement a broad exchange in the second stage, provided that the occupiers adhere to a sustainable ceasefire, withdrawal from Gaza, and the release of our prisoners from their prisons.”
