Hamas statement on declaring a ceasefire and stopping the war on Gaza.
According to Al Jazeera, the Hamas Islamic Resistance Movement announced in a statement: The ceasefire agreement is the result of the amazing resistance of the Palestinian people and our heroic struggles in the Gaza Strip over the past 15 months.
The group added: This ceasefire agreement and cessation of war in Gaza is considered an achievement for our people, the resistance, the Islamic Ummah, and the freedom seekers of the world, and is a turning point in the path of fighting the enemy to achieve the goals of the nation on the path to freedom and return to the homeland.
Hamas added: This agreement was formed based on our responsibility towards the patient and resistant people of Gaza to stop the aggression and war of the Zionist enemy against this nation and to end the bloodshed, massacre, and genocide being carried out against them.
The group emphasized: We appreciate all honorable official and popular positions in the Arab, Islami,c and international arenas that showed solidarity with Gaza, supported our people,e and played a role in exposing the occupying enemy and its crimes and stopping the war. We also extend special thanks to the mediating brothers, especially Qatar and Egypt, who made great efforts to achieve this agreement.
