Hamas: US and British sanctions show their complicity with Israel

PNN – The Hamas movement assessed the imposition of US and British sanctions against the officials and financial supporters of this movement and the Palestinian Islamic Jihad movement as a sign of the complicity of the governments of these two countries with the Zionist regime.

According to Pakistan News Network’s report from Sama news agency, the statement of the Hamas movement says: We strongly condemn the action of the Biden government and the British government to sanction Hamas.

In this statement, Hamas emphasized: These actions of the United States and England are in the context of the complicity of the two governments with the Zionist regime in its aggression against our nation.

In the continuation of this statement, it is stated: The unjust decision of America and England does not stop us from continuing our duty to defend the legitimate national rights of the Palestinian nation.

The British Foreign Ministry issued a statement on Wednesday announcing that the country has imposed new sanctions against the officials and sponsors of Hamas and Islamic Jihad in a coordinated action with the United States of America.

The British Foreign Office said in a statement that the country has sanctioned 7 other members associated with Hamas for what it called “countering the threat posed by this organization, cutting off access to financial resources and imposing travel restrictions on individuals associated with this organization.”

“Today’s action, coordinated with the United States, is the second round of targeted UK sanctions against Hamas-linked figures since the October 7 attacks on Israel,” the statement added.

According to the statement of the British Foreign Ministry, Mahmoud al-Zahar, one of the prominent leaders of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas), and Ali Barka, a senior member of the command of this movement, are among those who have been targeted in today’s sanctions.

The British Foreign Ministry claimed: These strict measures show that people associated with Hamas cannot escape accountability; Even if they operate from outside Gaza.

British Foreign Minister David Cameron claimed in this statement: Hamas cannot have a future in Gaza. Today’s sanctions against Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad will cut off their access to financial resources and further isolate them.

He claimed: We will continue to work with partners to achieve a long-term political solution so that Israelis and Palestinians can live in peace.

According to the announcement of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of England, the assets of sanctioned individuals and institutions in this country were frozen and British companies and citizens were prohibited from financial dealings with them. Also, sanctioned natural persons do not have the right to travel to England and their entry or passage to this country is prohibited.

On October 7, 2023, the Palestinian resistance groups launched a surprise operation called “Al-Aqsa Storm” from Gaza against the positions of the Israeli regime, and finally, after 45 days of fighting and conflict, on November 24, 2023, between Israel and Hamas, a four-day temporary cease-fire was reached.

Following the end of the four-day temporary ceasefire between Hamas and Israel, Qatar, as one of the mediating countries, announced that an agreement had been reached between Hamas and Tel Aviv to extend the ceasefire for 48 hours. Hamas also announced that it has reached an agreement with Qatar and Egypt on the extension of the temporary humanitarian ceasefire for another 2 days, based on the same terms of the previous ceasefire.

Finally, on the morning of December 1, 2023, the temporary ceasefire ended and the Israeli regime resumed attacks on Gaza. In order to retaliate for the surprise attacks of the “Al-Aqsa storm” and to compensate for its failure and stop the resistance operations, this regime has closed all the crossings of the Gaza Strip and is bombarding this area.

The Ministry of Health of Gaza announced that the number of martyrs since the beginning of the aggression has increased to 18,608 and the number of injured has crossed the border of 50,000.
