Hamas warns against a flag march at Al-Aqsa Mosque.
According to the Shahab News Agency, the Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement Hamas warned against the call of the Zionist settlers to fully open the Al-Aqsa Mosque during the “flag march” next May, calling it a dangerous development towards the Judaization of this holy place.
Harun Nasser al-Din, a member of the Political Bureau and head of the Jerusalem Affairs Office in Hamas, emphasized on Wednesday that these calls are taking place at the same time as the occupation regime and settlers continue to attack the Al-Aqsa Mosque and the entire occupied city of Jerusalem.
He called for a general mobilization to thwart these plans, the ultimate goal of which is to destroy the mosque and build a structure called the “Temple” in its place.
Nasser al-Din also referred to the request of the so-called “Hekel” groups to Itamar Ben-Guer, the Minister of Internal Security of the Zionist regime, to fully reopen the Al-Aqsa Mosque on May 25 and 26, and said that these demands are accompanied by Ben-Guer’s direct support and his policies in encouraging attacks on the mosque.
He warned against attempts to impose Talmudic rituals and teachings on the courtyards of the Al-Aqsa Mosque and change its historical and religious status, and emphasized the need for a popular and organized confrontation with these conspiracies.
Nasser al-Din called on the people of Jerusalem and the territories occupied in 1948 to mobilize for I’tikaf and a large presence in the Al-Aqsa Mosque, especially in the circumstances in which residents of the West Bank are prohibited from entering Jerusalem and the Al-Aqsa Mosque.
He emphasized: Al-Aqsa Mosque is one of the most important holy places, and the Palestinian people will not allow the plans to be implemented there. Some Zionist circles are openly talking about the explosion and destruction of the mosque and the construction of a “false temple” in its place. These threats must be pursued with utmost seriousness and responsibility by the entire Palestinian nation, the Arab and Islamic world, as well as the international community. Our people must support this mosque with all their might.
