The movement emphasized: Since the beginning of the aggression against the Gaza Strip, 19,000 Palestinian children have been martyred. Also, 39,000 children in Gaza have lost their father or mother, or both.
The statement reads: The Zionist regime’s escape from punishment in the shadow of international silence leads to an increase in this regime’s crimes against children in the Gaza Strip. We call on legal organizations to fulfill their responsibilities in exposing Israel’s crimes and to take serious measures to protect the children of Gaza.
This news comes as the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) recently announced that 51 percent of the population of the Gaza Strip is children.
The agency warned that children are the most frequent victims of Israeli airstrikes, and that an average of 100 children have been killed or injured in Gaza every day since the war resumed on March 18.
UNRWA Commissioner Philippe Lazzarini also said: The daily martyrdom and injury of at least 100 children in the Gaza Strip since the beginning of the resumption of Israeli attacks on the region is very painful.
