Hamdan: It is too early to talk about a ceasefire’

Hamdan: It is too early to talk about a ceasefire/we have not received a proposal from America.

Osama Hamdan, one of the senior leaders of the Islamic resistance movement Hamas, in a news interview with Al Jazeera TV this evening (Saturday), welcomed the joint plan of the American, Qatari, and Egyptian sides for a ceasefire, and evaluated the opinion of the Palestinian resistance leaders as “positive” and added: We are looking into it in order to respond to it, and Hamas has not yet received an official proposal for a cease-fire plan from the US president.

The representative of the Hamas movement in Lebanon, in another part of his media speech, referring to the recent massacre of Zionists in Gaza in the past 2 days, announced that these crimes show the occupation forces’ defiance of the decision of the International Court of Justice to stop operations in Rafah and withdraw from Gaza. .

Hamdan emphasized during the press conference that was held this Saturday evening in Beirut: The general framework mentioned in the Qatari, Egyptian, and American statements is generally positive, but we need to know the details of this plan.

Osama Hamdan stated that Biden’s speech contained positive ideas, but we want this issue to be crystallized in the framework of a comprehensive agreement that will fulfill our wishes.

Hamdan said that it cannot be accepted that the occupying forces stay in Gaza or manage the Rafah crossing.

He clarified that the Palestinian Ministry of Interior managed the Rafah crossing in Gaza before the war and will manage it after the war ends.

This Hamas leader pointed out that the goal of Qatar and Egypt’s efforts is to establish a ceasefire.

Osama Hamdan pointed out that we need a complete agreement and said: “Calling for an agreement is a positive step, but we cannot achieve this goal by just hoping.”

Hamdan emphasized that we are looking for a complete stop to the war, the withdrawal of the occupying forces from Gaza, aid to the Palestinians and the reconstruction of this barrier.

In another part of his news positions, Hamdan, while conveying greetings to the Palestinian resistance fronts in Lebanon, Yemen and Iraq, emphasized that the bravery carried out by the supporters of the Palestinian resistance is an incomparable turning point in the path of the Palestinian cause, resistance and stability of the Palestinian nation.
