PNN – Polls conducted by a reputable consulting center in the US show that US Vice President Kamla Harris and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton are the main choices of the Democratic Party to replace Joe Biden in the November presidential election.
According to the report of Pakistan News Network, citing Politico, a survey by a consulting center in Miami, Florida shows that Joe Biden has less chance of entering the White House than Donald Trump, but there is still a chance of other options from the Democratic Party entering the election race.
The Bendixen & Amandi consulting center has provided Politico with the results of its latest poll, which shows that after the Biden-Trump debate, the Democratic Party is behind Trump 42 to 43.
Of the 86 percent of likely voters who watched all or part of the debate, only 29 percent said Biden had the mental capacity and physical stamina to serve another four-year term in the White House, according to the poll. Only 33 percent said he should continue as the Democratic nominee.
Vice President Kamala Harris now leads Trump 42 percent to 41 percent, according to the poll. Hillary Clinton, the former Secretary of State and candidate for the 2016 presidential election, are serious options for the Democrats to succeed Biden.
Fernand Amandi of the Bendixen & Amandi consultancy, whose firm served as a consultant to the Democratic Party for Barack Obama’s two presidential campaigns, says voters are significantly concerned about Biden’s advanced age, and that concern has doubled after the debate aired.
He said: Voters’ opinion about Harris and Clinton has been surprising and many believe that the Clinton and Harris couple can save the Democratic Party against Trump.
About 53 percent said they saw Trump’s presidency as a serious threat to democracy in the United States, while 37 percent said such a statement was political rhetoric and unlikely to happen.
