“Harris” and supporting the Zionist regime from another perspective.

“Harris” and supporting the Zionist regime from another perspective.

: Kamala Harris, the vice president of the United States, Joe Biden, is one of the main executive elites of the American government, whose positions on the issue of the Palestinian-Zionist conflict, especially after the Al-Aqsa storm operation and the subsequent attacks of the Zionist regime on the Gaza Strip, are interesting. These positions, along with the statements of some experts, have caused some experts to raise the possibility of a change in American policies towards the Zionist regime.

Kamala Harris; a Democrat who supports the Zionist regime

Kamala Harris was born on October 20, 1964, in Oakland, California to an Indian mother and a Jamaican father. He studied at Harvard University and the University of California College of Law. He was the District Attorney of San Francisco from 2004-2011 and was elected as the Attorney General of California from 2011-2017. As a member of the Democratic Party, Harris is considered the first female and colored vice president of the United States. In January 2019, he announced his election campaign to represent the Democratic Party in the 2020 US presidential election, but in December 2019, while ending this campaign, he was nominated by Joe Biden as the first vice president.

In a 2017 speech at the AIPAC lobby, Kamala Harris identified herself as one of the pioneers of support for the Zionist regime and its policies, stating: “The first resolution I supported as a United States senator was to combat anti-Israel bias in It was the United Nations.” In 2016, he was critical of Obama’s support for the Security Council resolution that condemned the settlements in the West Bank. Kamala Harris met with Netanyahu in 2017 and a few days before the Democratic senators sent a letter requesting to stop the destruction of a Palestinian village in the West Bank.

Will Harris’ presidency change the American policy towards the Zionist regime?

After the resignation of Biden and the selection of Harris as the main candidate of the Democrats in the 2024 election campaign in the United States, the idea was raised in American political circles that Harris’s foreign policy in dealing with the Zionist regime would be different from Biden’s. Some believe that if Harris wins over Trump in the upcoming elections, he will maintain Biden’s policies on issues such as supporting Ukraine against Russia, supporting Taiwan against China, and trying to create an international coalition against Russia and China as Eurasian powers. does But the point of difference between Harris and Biden is about the Zionist regime. From this point of view, despite the public support of Biden’s policies, Harris will probably change the US government’s policy towards the Zionist regime, considering the opinions he has given in the current Gaza war. Those who have such a belief have put forward several factors to confirm the possibility of change in American policies:

Harris’s position on the Gaza war

One of the reasons for the change in Washington’s position towards Tel Aviv is Harris’ position after October 7th. In a report on July 23, 2024, Al-Monitor considered Harris’ position on the Gaza war to be indicative of a possible change in American policy after Biden. The reasons for this issue are Harris’s absence in the session of the speech of the Prime Minister of the Zionist regime, the statements of some experts, and Harris’s statements in some meetings.

Clark, a researcher at Sofan Center, believes that the issue (regime) of Israel and Gaza is the biggest difference between Biden and Harris. David Makowski, a member of the Washington think tank, also believes that unlike other members of Biden’s foreign and defense policy team, such as Foreign Secretary Anthony Blinken, National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan, Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin, and Biden himself, Harris has not traveled to the occupied territories since October 7.

Harris said in December 2023 that Israel must do more to protect civilian lives [in Gaza]. While paying attention to the position of the Biden administration that Israel has the right to defend itself against Hamas after the October 7 attack, he expressed concern about the widespread suffering of the Palestinians and warned that international humanitarian laws must be respected. In his November 2023 meeting with Israel President Herzog, Harris mentioned the issue of settlements in the West Bank and extremist settlers. He also stated at the Munich Security Conference in February 2024, “In my opinion, there cannot be peace and security for that region for the people of Israel or the Palestinians and the people of Gaza without a two-state solution.”

little possibility of change in American policies; Close relations between Harris and AIPAC

In her 2017 speech at the AIPAC lobby, Kamala Harris said about her support for the Zionist regime: “I stand by Israel because of shared values. I believe that the ties between the United States and Israel are unbreakable and that we can never allow anyone to drive distance between us. “Our bonds are rooted in our shared history and strengthened by the bonds between our peoples.” He also mentioned a statement by Shimon Peres that “for the existence (regime) of Israel, we need the friendship of the United States of America.”

The relationship between Harris and AIPAC has been closely followed since 2017. He even met with AIPAC leaders when some of the main Democratic candidates in the primaries chose to distance themselves from this Zionist lobby in 2019. He was also supported by another big pro-Zionist lobbying group called (DMFI). During his senatorial term, Harris provided extensive support to the Zionist lobbies in the Senate. This fact shows that Harris, like other American officials in the government structure, is a full-fledged actor in the interests of the occupiers.
