Harris; The main option to replace Biden in case of resignation

PNN – Reuters quoted 7 senior sources of the US presidential election campaign and wrote: If Joe Biden decides to stop his re-election campaign, his deputy Kamala Harris will be the main choice to succeed him.

According to the report of Pakistan News Network, this news agency added: These American sources, members of the Democratic National Committee, who are aware of the ongoing negotiations regarding Biden’s succession, said if Harris, 59, is named the party’s nominee, she will take over the money raised by the Biden campaign and inherit the campaign infrastructure.

Harris is also more popular among the alternatives, and in polls she is the main candidate among Democrats who can be seriously considered as a candidate.

Biden’s weaknesses, which were widely revealed in the first election debate against Republican candidate Donald Trump, have raised a wave of concerns among the Democratic Party, and they say that he may not be suitable enough for the second term of the presidency. These concerns have caused some of Biden’s senior advisers to demand his resignation.

Reuters and Ipsos poll showed that Harris with 42% is behind Trump with 43%; These results, with a margin of error of 3.5 percentage points, showed that Harris is statistically as strong as Biden.

According to the sources, Harris’ qualifications have also been confirmed for office and have survived intense scrutiny from Republicans.

White House press secretary Karin Jean-Pierre acknowledged Tuesday that Biden had a “bad night” in the debate but will continue his re-election bid.

In part of its report, Reuters wrote, quoting several Democratic strategists: Passing on the first black and female vice president and trying to find another candidate will lead to a backlash among black and female voters who play a key role in winning elections.

Harris is impossible to ignore

Harris has been left out of much of the speculation to succeed Biden since the Biden-Trump debate because some influential Democrats doubt she can beat Trump, four of the sources told Reuters.

America has never elected a female president, and Harris has spent most of her time as vice president in a supporting role. As late as last year, many inside the White House and the Biden campaign were worried in behind-the-scenes meetings that she would be put in charge of the campaign.

Harris has also been criticized by Republicans and conservatives as a racist.
