Has the Zionist regime retreated in front of Hamas?
The Israeli Channel 14 television reported in this regard that, contrary to the statements made by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in recent days, in which he emphasized that he would be willing to accept the agreements of this stage and that Israel only wants a comprehensive agreement, Tel Aviv has agreed to the Witkoff plan, which suggests the gradual release of prisoners, and this proposed plan has been put back on the agenda for negotiations.
In this plan, which has already been discussed and negotiated, half of the prisoners will be released first, 10 living prisoners and eight dead prisoners will be released in exchange for a 60-day ceasefire.
During this period, negotiations will be held regarding the release of the remaining prisoners and the issue of ending the war, but at the same time, no commitment will be made by Israel to definitively end the ceasefire.
A high-ranking Israeli official announced this information to Channel 14 on Sunday evening and claimed that this process cannot be considered a phased agreement. According to this official, the Witkoff plan is not phased and will never be, but rather a complete and comprehensive agreement that will be implemented in several stages.
According to this source, the main goal of pursuing this plan is to at least end the problems of half of the prisoners in the first stage, without ignoring the other half, while negotiations are being held within the framework of reaching a long-term ceasefire agreement.
According to the Hebrew-language media outlet, despite the official Israeli interpretations, the main interpretation of this matter can be made by anyone, and determines whether this is a partial, phased agreement or a comprehensive agreement.
