Hebrew media admits: Iran struck where Israel did not expect it.

Aviv Lavi, the author of this article, which was published in the Zeman Yisrael newspaper on Monday, believes that just 12 days of war brought an unimaginable amount of debris to the Israelis, while its shrapnel will certainly engulf the Israeli economy and environment, but Israel was not prepared for it and its consequences, neither before nor now.

The article states: About 800,000 tons of debris from this war have been left for Israel. This is the gift that Iranian missiles brought to Israel in just 12 days.

Dozens of buildings housing thousands of Israelis were destroyed, while others are being evacuated for demolition and rebuilding.

The Israeli Environment Ministry said the figure was an initial estimate of the weight of the rubble left behind by the war, while the final figures will be significantly higher, as many more buildings will certainly be destroyed in the assessments carried out.

This figure is also shocking, as the average annual total of construction waste generated in Israel is 7 million tons, while in a week and a half, Iranian missiles destroyed between 10 and 15 percent of this waste.

The author then suggests that, in light of the October 7 operation, during which a large number of buildings were destroyed, and after the conflict with the Lebanese Hezbollah, which destroyed more houses in the northern settlements (of occupied Palestine), and now that countless buildings have suffered the fate of previously destroyed buildings, Israel would do well to strengthen its recycling industry, because if this trend continues, Israel will suffer a very severe environmental blow from this waste.
