Hebrew media: Europe must pay for the massive losses of the war with Iran.
Amirkahanovich, the author of the article, said that after the end of the war with Iran (at least for now), we have been given a kind of positive feeling of victory, but the realities and what lies below the surface indicate the destruction of the economy, increasing debts, inflation, and interest rates.
In contrast, those sitting in Europe continued to drink espresso on the streets of Milan and nibble on croissants in Paris to preoccupy themselves with the debt and interest rate reduction program that the coronavirus outbreak had brought with it.
Israel alone paid the price for the consequences of the attack on Iran’s nuclear facilities, while this action was in the interests of European security. Instead of thanking Israel for the service it had rendered, they continued to play the role of humanitarian and peacemaker, as German Chancellor Friedrich Mertz said: Israel has done the West’s dirty work on its behalf.
Israel should not accept such conditions; it should explicitly demand that the European Union pay the costs of the war and, even more than that, demand that it pay the annual costs of providing its security, just as the United States does for us.
This measure not only helps Israel cover the heavy costs of such measures but also makes Europe consider itself a strategic partner of Israel and therefore less likely to publicly criticize us.
