Hebrew media: Israel is under siege in Gaza, Hamas is getting stronger

Hebrew

PNN – A Hebrew media outlet acknowledged that the Israeli army is witnessing Hamas’s rise to power.

According to the report of Pakistan News Network, Avi Ashkenazi, a military correspondent for the Ma’ariv newspaper, admitted that the Israeli army is still conducting operations in the Gaza Strip while seeing with his own eyes that the Hamas movement is gaining strength in the region.

According to this Zionist expert, there was a perception in the Israeli army that sending four or five divisions to completely occupy Gaza City would push Israel towards a situation where it would be forced to assume control of the region’s more than 2.5 million residents.

However, the Israeli military currently claims to be in an ideal operational position in Gaza: On the one hand, it controls more than 52 percent of Gaza territory and its forces are stationed in part of the Hill 70-80 area, which allows it to monitor Gaza City and other areas of the Gaza Strip and fire directly at them.

The Israeli army is currently working to destroy the tunnels and infrastructure left behind by Hamas on the eastern side of the Green Line.

Responsibility for addressing the population, including the issue of civilian assistance, lies with the United States and the Peace Council established by Trump. Israel points out that the hostage issue has been resolved and therefore Hamas has no direct leverage to pressure Israel. However, the situation in Gaza is by no means ideal.

Just over the weekend, several incidents were recorded in which combat units in Gaza detected attempts to attack Israeli forces.

According to this Hebrew-language media outlet, Hamas is currently attempting to carry out daily attacks.

The Israeli military acknowledges that Hamas is trying to build an infrastructure to arm itself. Its biggest problem right now is access to explosives and weapons.

Hamas is trying to fill this gap in several ways, including using drones to smuggle weapons from Egypt to the Negev (occupied) and from there to Gaza.

The report states: Hamas has also assigned a number of people to collect war debris, especially unexploded ordnance left behind by the Israeli army.

They transport these munitions to above-ground and underground buildings, where workshops produce improvised explosive devices.

Some of these improvised explosive devices have already been planted in areas where Hamas believes the Israeli military will attempt to establish a presence.

The Israeli military establishment acknowledges that the option currently facing Israel has become more complicated and is unlikely to achieve the desired outcome Tel Aviv desires.

Currently, the Israeli military prefers to maintain the status quo by carrying out targeted assassinations and destroying Hamas infrastructure whenever Hamas escalates its activities against Israeli forces along the Green Line (under this pretext and claim).

Israel’s next step is to try to convince the Americans to change the amount of aid shipments received and adopt a market economy model in Gaza instead of providing humanitarian aid.

However, Israel believes that the Americans are determined to disarm Hamas and is therefore waiting for Washington to act.
