Hebrew media’s narrative of a failure: Netanyahu returns from America empty-handed.
According to Al Jazeera, the Israeli media agency reported that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s visit to Washington remained incomplete and ended suspiciously and abruptly.
The Israeli media reported that Netanyahu’s meeting with US President Donald Trump at the White House made no progress in the negotiations and did not lead to a reduction in customs tariffs.
The Israeli newspaper Israel Hume also added that the shock and anger on the faces of the Israeli delegation in Washington were visible.
The Times of Israel magazine also called Netanyahu’s visit to the White House disappointing. The magazine described the visit as disappointing, citing Trump’s claim of direct negotiations between Iran and the US.
New Demour, a spokesman for Yair Lapid, the head of the Israeli opposition cabinet, also said in response to the incompleteness of the visit: “The Israeli media must tell the people the truth as it is; It was one of the most humiliating visits for an Israeli prime minister in history, leading to Israel being humiliated on live television and completely defeated, and not even tariffs being reduced.
He added: Trump used Netanyahu only as a decorative vase to legitimize negotiations with Iran.
