Hebrew sources claim about Witkoff’s new Gaza ceasefire proposal

PNN – Hebrew media claimed that Trump’s new Middle East envoy’s proposal for a ceasefire in Gaza would lead to a long-term ceasefire in the strip, and while the Zionists insist on negotiating under fire, Hamas has emphasized that it will not negotiate under fire.

According to the report of Pakistan News Network, amid US President Donald Trump’s regional visit and while the Zionists have intensified their brutal attacks on the Gaza Strip, Hebrew media reported on Washington’s new proposal for a ceasefire in Gaza.

In this regard, the Hebrew newspaper Ma’ariv reported, citing unnamed senior officials that the Americans do not consider the initial proposal by Steve Whittaker, the US envoy to the Middle East, to be the key to a ceasefire agreement in Gaza and are moving towards updated solutions.

According to the report, Witkoff’s proposal essentially calls for the release of all remaining prisoners in Gaza, both dead and alive, and an end to the war. However, US officials said that a new proposal was presented during Witkoff’s meeting with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, an attempt to advance a process that would outline a vision for ending the war.

Maariou emphasized: This proposal is based on the premise that a comprehensive and long-term agreement can lead to a permanent ceasefire and encourages Hamas to be flexible and agree to it.

On the other hand, the Hebrew newspaper Yedioth Aharonot reported, quoting a senior Zionist official: We hope to enter into effective negotiations for the release of the hostages (Zionist prisoners). We insist on releasing half of them all at once, not in stages, and the other half after reaching an agreement.

The Hebrew media added: This comes as talks on Gaza are set to take place this week in Doha, and Netanyahu has ordered a negotiating team to be sent to Qatar with the aim of holding talks under fire. Witkoff met with families of Israeli prisoners held in Gaza in Tel Aviv on Tuesday and told reporters that he would bring them all home.

The American website Axios also reported that Steve Whittaker and Adam Buehler, the US special envoy for prisoner issues, are traveling to Qatar to join last-minute negotiations on a new agreement for the release of prisoners and a ceasefire in Gaza.

The American media added: Boehler said yesterday in a conversation with reporters in Tel Aviv that now, after the release of Aidan Alexander by Hamas on Monday, there is a greater chance of the release of the remaining 58 prisoners in Gaza. Israel has emphasized that Alexander’s release was without any deal and that this was a unilateral step by Hamas. Before his release, Netanyahu met with Witkoff and Mike Huckabee, the US ambassador to Tel Aviv, on Monday and called Trump, ordering a delegation to be sent to Doha to conduct negotiations only under fire.

Hamas movement sources and Egyptian sources familiar with the negotiations also announced in an interview with Al-Arabi Al-Jadeed that the release of Eidan Alexander was the result of serious contacts with the US government and the efforts of mediators as part of a broader understanding reached in recent meetings in Doha. This agreement is the starting point for indirect negotiations between Hamas and Israel for a ceasefire, and according to the agreement reached with the United States; Trump promised the Palestinian side that he would announce the start of negotiations for a ceasefire.

A source in the Hamas movement also emphasized that the negotiations will not be held under fire and that a ceasefire will be established for 3 weeks to 40 days. The provisions of the agreement also include the opening of humanitarian crossings for trucks carrying aid to reach Gaza, and the negotiations with the United States saw the abandonment of Israel’s deceptive plan regarding the distribution of aid.
