Hezbollah: America is treating Lebanon like a colony

PNN – Hussein Jishi, a Hezbollah parliamentarian, criticized the Lebanese government’s inaction in the face of enemy aggression, saying that the U.S. aims to pressure Lebanon into normalizing relations with Israel and behaves as if Lebanon were a colony of Washington.

According to the report of Pakistan News Network, Speaking about the ongoing threats and attacks by the U.S.-Israeli enemy against Lebanon, Jishi, a senior member of the Loyalty to the Resistance bloc in parliament, said that America’s goal in pressuring Lebanese officials is to force them to sign a compromise agreement with Israel under the occupier’s terms, serving the U.S.-Israeli project to dominate the region and exploit its resources.

Resistance will not yield to U.S. dictates

Jishi added that Lebanese officials admit to being under tremendous pressure, with the U.S. continuing to threaten and humiliate Lebanon.

He emphasized that Hezbollah will never submit to U.S. dictates and is not afraid of threats from the country’s proxy, the Israeli occupation regime. For over four decades, we have confronted the U.S.-Israeli conspiratorial project in Lebanon and have never hesitated to defend the sovereignty and freedom of our lands, he said.

He stressed: We will continue to live with dignity and freedom in our land, making any sacrifices necessary. The continued sacrifices of the Lebanese people and the blood of the martyrs are proof of the decisive victory promised by God Almighty.

Jishi also criticized the insulting behavior of the U.S. envoy to Lebanon toward Lebanese journalists in recent months. He said that Tom Barrett, the American envoy at the Lebanese presidential palace, insulted reporters, undermined the Lebanese army’s role, and boldly stated that the army’s role should be to confront the people of Lebanon—especially Hezbollah—rather than Israel.

The United States treats Lebanon as if it were a colony

He explained that the American envoy has called the Lebanese government a failed state, while the U.S. embassy issues frequent statements attacking Lebanon and labeling Hezbollah as a terrorist group—even though Hezbollah has always defended the country and represents a large segment of its population.

Jishi stressed that the U.S. acts as though it has the right to say and do whatever it wants in Lebanon according to its own interests, and to accuse or punish any Lebanese citizen who opposes its policies and interference.

He added that, in recent days, envoys from the U.S. Treasury and Department of Homeland Security have been dictating to Lebanon and its officials how to manage public and private financial institutions. At the same time, they continue to pressure the Lebanese army. Their audacity has reached the point of demanding to search Lebanese homes and intervening in domestic matters, including parliamentary legislation, as if Lebanon were under American guardianship.

Jishi said that despite all these insults, threats, and intrusions into Lebanon’s public and private affairs, some power centers and political figures—who claim to defend Lebanon’s sovereignty—have shown no reaction. It is as if they have become paralyzed or have accepted everything the Americans say and do. In fact, it seems they have no problem living under a hidden American mandate, he said.

He added that Hezbollah is the largest political party in Lebanon, and one clear sign of this was the massive turnout at the funeral of martyr Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah. This, he said, reflected the Lebanese people’s commitment to the resistance path for which their leader sacrificed his life.

Jishi emphasized that for four decades, Hezbollah and its allies have carried the responsibility of confronting the Israeli enemy, sacrificing thousands of martyrs and wounded fighters to liberate Lebanese territory. He said that Hezbollah has never discriminated between different regions or communities and has defended all Lebanese people without exception.

He concluded by saying that the real terrorist is the United States, which brings its fleets and aircraft carriers from thousands of miles away to impose its dominance on Lebanon and the region. He accused Washington of participating in the killing of children and women in Gaza—where more than 20,000 children and 10,000 women have been killed by U.S. weapons—and said that the terrorist group ISIS carried out its crimes under direct American support.
