PNN – Leaders of Hezbollah and the Amal Movement emphasized their support for Iran and its right to defend itself in a political meeting.
According to the report of Pakistan News Network, the leaders of Hezbollah and the Amal Movement issued a joint statement yesterday after holding a political meeting, addressing developments in Lebanon and the region, and first of all, they expressed their full support for the position of Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri regarding holding parliamentary elections on the dates set in the constitution.
The leaders of Hezbollah and the Amal Movement rejected any attempt to extend, postpone, or obstruct these elections, given their importance in reviving political life and strengthening the democratic process in Lebanon.
The statement also emphasized the need to strengthen the atmosphere of cooperation and unity during this critical period for Lebanon, given the intensification of attacks and violations of the country’s national sovereignty by the Zionist regime and its attacks on residential areas and neighborhoods.
The leaders of the Amal and Hezbollah movements called on the international community and the countries supporting the ceasefire agreement to fulfill their commitments and force Israel to stop attacks and withdraw from the territories and positions it still occupies in the south, in addition to releasing Lebanese prisoners.
They also called on the Lebanese government to address the needs of the residents of the country’s border villages and launch a comprehensive project for the reconstruction of Lebanon, thereby strengthening the stability of the Lebanese in their homeland.
The statement by the leaders of Hezbollah and the Amal Movement continued, stating that the threats of the American-Zionist enemy against Iran are aimed at weakening and subjugating this country, but we trust Iran, its great nation, and its leader Imam Seyyed Ali Khamenei, and we once again declare our support for Iran and its right to defend its sovereignty and territorial integrity.
