Hezbollah: Israeli aggression against Lebanon is carried out with full Western cover

PNN – Ali Fayad, a senior Hezbollah lawmaker, criticized the “shameful silence” of international actors and the guarantors of the ceasefire in the face of repeated Israeli violations, saying the West and the international community are effectively giving Israel cover to continue its aggression and crimes.

According to the report of Pakistan News Network, Speaking on recent developments in Lebanon, Fayad—who represents the Loyalty to the Resistance bloc in parliament—said it is clear that pressure on Lebanon is increasing on multiple levels. He added that Israel continues its criminal and “terrorist” attacks against Lebanese civilians and is targeting civilian sites, including tourist areas, such as the recent incident in Tyre.

During a memorial ceremony, Fayad said Israel is deliberately destroying southern Lebanese villages to prevent displaced residents from returning home. He noted that Israeli forces have been striking machinery and equipment used for rebuilding homes and clearing rubble.

He added that these attacks come alongside Israel’s repeated daily threats of returning to full-scale war. In addition, he accused the United States of advancing Israel’s agenda through political, economic, and financial pressure and of shamelessly obstructing Lebanon’s reconstruction while conditioning it on the disarmament of the resistance.

Commenting on the recent visit of a U.S. Treasury delegation to Beirut, Fayad said one of the immediate outcomes was new measures adopted by Lebanon’s central bank. He said Lebanese officials have every right to question the actions of the country’s financial authorities—especially the central bank—which, he argued, has surrendered entirely to U.S. dictates and poses a direct threat to Lebanon’s stability and national interests.

Ali Fayad said that amid growing attempts to undermine the resistance and its weapons, Hezbollah remains firm in its position. He stressed that the party’s call to address the issue of weapons within the framework of a national defense strategy stems from its firm belief that this is a Lebanese national matter that must be resolved internally, not dictated by foreign powers.

The Hezbollah MP added that the party’s approach is serious and constructive, aimed at building a strong and stable state capable of addressing Lebanon’s complex political and economic crises.

He continued that before anything else, Israel must be pressured to fully comply with the ceasefire agreement in all its aspects — including ending its attacks, withdrawing completely from Lebanese territory, releasing Lebanese detainees, and respecting Lebanon’s sovereignty.

Fayad warned that as long as the ceasefire is not fully implemented and Israel continues to violate it, Lebanon will be unable to move toward recovery, stability, or effective state-building, and the country will sink deeper into turmoil.

Pointing to Western and U.S. complicity in Israel’s ongoing aggression and repeated ceasefire violations, Fayad said Western delegations and international bodies that frequently visit Lebanon deliberately ignore Israel’s continuous crimes against Lebanese civilians, its attacks on their livelihoods, and its blatant violations of the ceasefire and Resolution 1701. At the same time, he said, these delegations try to impose Israeli conditions on Lebanon and push for the disarmament of the resistance.

He stressed that the behavior of these Western and American delegations effectively provides political cover for Israel to continue its attacks on Lebanon — preventing the Lebanese state from extending its full sovereignty across the country and blocking any meaningful path toward recovery and reconstruction.
