Hezbollah: We have no negotiations with the Zionist enemy

PNN – A Hezbollah representative in the Lebanese parliament emphasized that the cost of confronting the enemy is far less than that of surrender, declaring that there will be no negotiations with the Zionists, who only understand the language of force.

According to the report of Pakistan News Network, citing Al-Akhbar newspaper, Ihab Hamadeh, a member of Hezbollah’s “Loyalty to the Resistance” parliamentary bloc, commented on recent developments in Lebanon and reports about growing pressure for direct talks between Beirut and Tel Aviv, stating that no negotiation framework has been proposed to Hezbollah.

Speaking to *Sputnik Radio*, Hamadeh said that the ceasefire agreement reached last year between Lebanon and the Zionist regime was based on indirect negotiations through mediators. “Therefore,” he added, “it is not correct to say that Lebanon has now agreed to direct negotiations with the Zionist enemy or that it will pursue this matter to the end of the negotiation process.”

He explained that Hezbollah agreed to the terms of last year’s ceasefire because it was a balanced formula that served Lebanon’s interests. However, moving toward a new framework for talks would mean violating that previous understanding.

Referring to the strong pressures being placed on Lebanese President Joseph Aoun, Hamadeh stressed: “Hezbollah’s stance is crystal clear — we will not negotiate with the Zionists under any circumstances. Even with changing conditions, the occupying regime understands nothing but the language of force, and the cost of confrontation is far lower than the cost of surrender.”

The Hezbollah MP stated that the Zionist enemy seeks to establish a buffer zone along Lebanon’s borders to secure the northern front of occupied Palestine. He added that the plan to displace the residents of southern Lebanon is an old Zionist project that continues to this day.

Hamadeh noted that Israel is trying to revoke UN Resolution 1701 — a resolution it has already violated in practice, as it does not adhere to any of its provisions.

Regarding the recent visit of an Egyptian delegation to Lebanon, Hamadeh said that before the delegation’s arrival in Beirut, there had been reports about Egyptian discussions concerning strategic weapons in Lebanon under a specific cover.

He also warned that Egypt itself faces an existential strategic threat, noting that the country’s situation is different from that of other Arab states.

In conclusion, the Hezbollah representative said that there had been no direct meetings between Hezbollah and either the Egyptian or Saudi delegations. However, Saudi Arabia had conveyed to Hezbollah that it viewed the recent speech by Sheikh Naim Qassem, the party’s deputy secretary-general, in a positive light.
