Hezbollah’s optical missile is a weapon that changes equations.
Lebanon’s Hezbollah for the first time released a video of an optical (television) missile firing at an Israeli army position and hitting the target accurately.
On Thursday, Lebanon’s Hezbollah released a video of the destruction of a radar system in the “Jal al-Alam” area using an optically guided missile which attracted the attention of various circles.
In this video, we can see that the missile dives toward the target in a curved form (top attack) and points. In optical missiles, a camera is located on the nose of the missile, when the relevant switch is pressed, the cover of the camera is removed and the camera starts imaging its environment, this camera can be visible light or infrared (for night operations).
According to the published video, the missile hit a radar system that was behind a concrete wall and was safe from direct view. It could be observed dozens of kilometers deep in the soil of Lebanon.
But what is the significance of these missiles entering the battlefield between Hezbollah and Israel after more than three months of the Gaza war, and how will it affect the course of the war? Hezbollah said in its announcement that it has officially entered the equation of war with Israel.
Hizbollah had previously managed to destroy most of the radar systems of the occupying army near the Lebanese border, but the radar that was destroyed on Thursday could not be targeted by conventional missiles, because it is located on a high hill and a concrete wall is in front of it. It was built 9 meters.
