Hill: The future of the president of the US Congress is uncertain

PNN – The American website Hill wrote in a report referring to the fact that some allies of President-elect Donald Trump want a new person to be elected to head the House of Representatives: The future of Mike Johnson, the current Republican president of the US Congress, is uncertain.

According to the report of Pakistan News Network, Hill’s report states: At the beginning of 2025, the Republicans of the US House of Representatives will hold the majority of this house with a small difference, and their first vote will be to choose a leader who will take over the responsibility of the presidency of the US Congress.

According to the Hill Report, Mike Johnson’s position as the current president of the US Congress may be in jeopardy in the New Year (2025). Because some of Trump’s allies, referring to Johnson’s efforts to cooperate with the Democrats regarding the approval of the US government’s temporary budget bill, want another Republican representative to sit in the chair of the Congress of this country.

Hill’s report adds: Tim Butchert, one of the Republican representatives of the US Congress, announced in an interview with this news website that he is not satisfied with Johnson’s performance as the Speaker of the US House of Representatives, and Thomas Massey, another Republican representative of the US Congress, in response to the reporter’s question about the possibility of Johnson’s removal from the US House of Representatives, noted that it will not support Johnson for the presidency of the Congress, but it will not be easy to find a new person for the presidency of the US House of Representatives.

Donald Trump pressed congressional Republicans on Wednesday night local time to reject a temporary budget bill needed to fund the government after a midnight deadline on Friday.

If the temporary budget is not approved by the Congress by the deadline, part of the US government will be closed from Saturday and many things such as air travel and law enforcement activities will be disrupted in the days leading up to December 25 and the beginning of the Christmas holiday.

For more than 20 years, the U.S. government has spent more than it took in as Democrats expanded health care programs and Republicans cut taxes.

The continuous increase in the debt, which is currently 36 trillion dollars, has forced lawmakers to raise the debt ceiling at times because failure to raise the debt ceiling can have severe economic consequences.
