PNN – US President-elect Donald Trump, who has unorthodox methods, has chosen people for his two main foreign policy positions in his second administration, who, according to political analysts, both agree with his tough stances on China and Iran.
According to the report of Pakistan News Network, on Wednesday, Trump nominated 53-year-old Cuban Senator Marco Antonio Rubio for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. He also appointed Michael (Mike) Waltz, a Republican politician from the state of Florida, who served in the US House of Representatives for three terms and was re-elected in the recent elections, as a national security advisor.
Waltz is a retired colonel of the green helmet and special forces of the United States of America, and has a long history in Washington political circles, and in the House of Representatives, he is one of the figures opposing Biden’s foreign policy towards the Islamic Republic of Iran, and he calls for a tougher position of the United States against China and North Korea. He has harsh positions towards China and called for a boycott of the 2022 Winter Olympic Games in this country because the Covid-19 disease originated from China and also because of the situation of Uyghur Muslims. He is also a critic of the chaotic withdrawal of the Biden administration from Afghanistan.
Waltz is a former Special Forces officer and foreign policy investigator who Trump has described as one of the “nationally recognized leaders in national security” and “an expert on the threats posed by China, Russia, Iran and global terrorism.”
Marco Rubio, who is a member of the Foreign Relations Committee and simultaneously the senior member of the US Senate Intelligence Committee, is a foreign policy politician known for his aggressive approach to China.

Rubio will be the first Latino to serve as the US Secretary of State. He is famous for his stubborn approach in the field of foreign policy and defends stubborn positions towards China, Cuba and Iran. He is also an opponent of the nuclear agreement with Iran (JCPOA) and the lifting of sanctions against Iran.
This American senator claims that Iran should never be allowed to obtain nuclear weapons due to its “support for terrorism” and “human rights record”. Meanwhile, American intelligence agencies have also announced that Tehran is not moving towards building nuclear weapons.
According to political analysts, Trump’s choices for top foreign policy posts could reassure US allies but worry China and other countries.
Marco Rubio and Mike Waltz agree with Trump’s tough stance on China and Iran. They have shown that they are willing to reconcile their foreign policy positions with Trump’s more isolationist “America First” approach, which is a requirement for anyone who wants to work with Trump.
But both are conservatives with foreign policy experience who have previously disagreed with Trump on Russia, NATO and other issues.
They have also been willing to work with Democrats. Mark Warner, the Democratic chairman of the Senate Intelligence Committee, said Rubio would be a “strong voice for American interests” abroad.
America’s allies may have been relieved that Rubio was chosen as Secretary of State instead of Richard Grenell. Grenell is a staunch Trump supporter and former diplomat and intelligence official who is known for supporting authoritarian powers outside of the United States.
