Local organizations had previously warned of an imminent health and humanitarian catastrophe in Al-Dalang, while the Rapid Support Forces continue to besiege and heavily bombard the city.
The cities of Al-Dalang and Kadugli have been under siege and subjected to repeated attacks since the first months of the war. Currently, intense clashes are ongoing between the Sudanese army and the Rapid Support Forces in the three states of Kordofan.
In this regard, the German News Agency (DPA), citing Sudanese media, reported that the Rapid Support Forces have detained approximately 600 women, some with their children, in the Koria prison in the city of Nyala in South Darfur State. The humanitarian conditions for these individuals are dire due to prolonged detention and shortages of water and food.
According to the report, the detainees face charges related to espionage or cooperation with the army, while others have been detained for refusing to join the Rapid Support Forces.
Since April 2023, Sudan has witnessed a bloody war between the army and the Rapid Support Forces, resulting in thousands of deaths and the displacement of millions. This comes amid growing warnings about the escalating humanitarian crisis and the spread of violence in the country.
