Ice Age; Trump’s inauguration ceremony moved indoors!
According to Reuters, US President-elect Donald Trump announced that his inauguration, which was scheduled to take place on Monday, has been moved indoors due to a severe cold wave in the country.
With this news, the Republican president-elect of the US lost his hopes of starting his second term with a glamorous ceremony.
Trump wrote on his social network called “Truth Social”: “A polar storm is sweeping the country. Therefore, I have ordered the inauguration speech, prayer service, and other speeches to be moved to the rotunda of the Capitol building.”
The change in the inauguration schedule means that Trump will not stand on the steps of the Capitol building on Monday evening local time, which is Washington, D.C.’s National Mall front. The park traditionally hosts large crowds that attend the inaugurations of US presidents. The ornate rotunda that will host Trump’s inauguration is located just below the Capitol dome and can accommodate a small crowd of a few hundred people.
The National Weather Service predicts a frosty Monday in Washington, D.C., with polar winds blowing in. Temperatures are expected to reach minus 6 degrees Celsius. This will be the coldest day for a presidential inauguration since Ronald Reagan’s second term, which was minus 14 degrees Celsius.
