According to “T24”, the detained mayor of Istanbul, Ekrem İmamoğlu, issued a message to his supporters on Sunday after the court issued a prison sentence for him: My dear compatriots, Turkey has faced a great betrayal today.

The detained mayor of Istanbul added: The ongoing judicial process is not a legal action. This is a verdict without a trial. I call on the people of my country to fight for their rights. This fight for rights is a matter of the future of the nation and our children.

Ekrem İmamoğlu continued by adding: For the future of Turkey, be sure to cast your vote today. Then gather in the streets of Istanbul and other squares in other provinces and raise your voices. Now is the day when we must be responsible against those who steal the will of the nation and participate in the fight for our rights. Without leaving each other alone, all together.
